Not every online monitoring journey starts with a plant-wide rollout. Sometimes it starts with one machine, one sensor and a Raspberry Pi — and that is exactly what this setup is for: small companies deploying their first online system, larger organisations that want to prove the value before committing to plant-grade gateways, and universities, training centres and enthusiasts learning condition monitoring on real hardware.

Any Raspberry Pi from version 4 up will do — its built-in Bluetooth connects to the sensors and Wi-Fi or Ethernet carries the data to the cloud. The Pi runs the same VibCloud edge service as our production gateways, so everything you set up, learn and measure transfers one-to-one when you scale up to a plant-grade system like VibCloud + Sensor-Works + Cassia X2000.

Mount the sensors

BluVib wireless sensors — MEMS or piezoelectric — attach to your machines, measuring vibration and temperature on battery power.

Prepare the Pi

Any Raspberry Pi from version 4 up. We install the VibCloud edge service with you — the same software that runs on production gateways.

Connect it

The Pi collects from the sensors over its built-in Bluetooth and forwards data to the cloud over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
